If you remember on my last post I was going into the weekend as full time care giver and full time mommy/wife with no help….so as it went there was no time to BLOG! Today has been even more eventful but I was determined not to let this get away from me!
#Blogger I did nothing to increase my knowledge of my blogging site. Shame on me! But as I just stated I am claiming my acomplishment of logging back on today as a plus for me! I am determined by tomorrow to learn how to add photos! So stay tuned!
#Caregiver By 8pm last night I was seriously drained. Dad has NO short term memory but a handfull of questions which he repeated to me NON STOP all weekend! It is exhausting! Also my full time caregiver who is undespinseble had the nerve to take a week long vacation! How dare she! I am wondering how we will survive the week! Thankfully my part time care giver is picking up the slack this week, but its still not the same. rule #1 in being a primary caregiver always have more than 1 helpers!
#mommy I would love to go into the whirlwind of mommy emotions I had to day but I am going to have to sum it up because my daughter is sitting on one side of me needing the computer and my dad is on the other needing to PEE! So to make a long story short….@11am I got a call that Ryders spot had come up at the school we really wanted to him in @1:40pm Danielle informed me that she was voted homecoming princess for her Jr class @5pm Danielle called me from the side of the road where she was rear ended!
Ok well this is all I have time for right now the husband is even here wanting SOMETHING???????
Well I am proud of myself for sticking with it and being determined to learn a little each and every day. Today I……
- Changed my site title and tagline
- Made it so my latest post shows on my “home” page
- obtained a AKISMET something or other that will block spam. Since I am using this for personal use I got that for FREE! score!
- Updated my post!
So far I feel like WordPress is something like a combo of fb/myspace on steroids. You just got to keep on working at it till you get it right.
#MOM I started out today getting to the ball field for Ryders Tball game @9am sharp!! The kids did great and Ryders enthusiasm is unwavering! They don’t keep score this season since its “fall ball” its more for learning purposes. However, no matter how much better the other team is or even if they are equal, Ryder is convinced that his team beat the pants off them because his team is “AWESOME”!
#CAREGIVER At 12:30 its time to send my caregiver home and resume my responsibilities to my father FOR THE REST OF THE WEEKEND! I have silently told myself several times already that “I can do this, I do it often and I will make the best of it” One perk today is that Alabama is playing today and that is always a good thing if you are my dad! He cant remember much of the short term but u can bet u sweet behind that he remembers that Alabama is #1 in the SEC!
Being a care giver to my dad is a HUGE part of life these days and a big reason I started this blog. I am thinking that since I have managed to keep him alive (and happy) for 1 1/2 year now without loosing my mind or sense of humor that I may have something to say that could help another person in the same situation! As I get better at this blogging I will def get some pictures up to show some of the awesome things we do.
#pinterest junkie I have cube steak in the crock pot Of course I got the recipe off pinterest. I modified a little since I did not remember to buy the french onion soup mix and I wanted to use beef broth rather than water(and a couple shakes of onion powder). Also after reading some of the comments added button mushrooms! I have already decided that its going to be , as Ryder would say, AWESOME!
Well THE GAME starts in 15min so I am outta here!
Wow, when I had this brain storm I did think it would be a little simpler than this! At least when I googled “how to start a blog” it seemed like a cake walk. It is my goal to have my web site looking like I would like it to look in 14 days! Either way I will celebrate at that time because it will be my 40th birthday!! And I am thinking that every neurotic 40 yr old with as much as I have going on deserves their own web-site/blog.
so here is my step by step of creating my blog DAY1
- as previously stated I googled “how to start a blog”
- took a leap of faith and spent $66 dollars to register my site for one year. Choosing suckitupcoconut.com on a whim because it does come out of my mouth frequently and kinda describes my approach to life.
- went with wordpress for…..I really don’t know what you call it….my page layout???? (can you tell I have NO idea what I am doing)
- Made my “About Me” page!
Soooo once at wordpress I have figured out how to type my first blog. Not happy with my header at the moment but I have a call in for a lil graphic design help from a friend.
